Richard joined SAP-America in 1995 as a PP (Production Planning) consultant. He brought with him over 22 years of
industry and consulting experience in Material Management; specifically Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
Intrigued by SAP’s relatively new Make-to-Order functionality, Richard grabbed the bull by the horns and quickly became
the go-to person for Variant Configuration within SAP-America on the PP side. It took Richard only a few years to achieve the prestigious “Platinum Consultant” status.
During his 9 years with SAP America, he was the lead and/or architect on several high profile projects, and performed design
quality reviews on the many more which he couldn’t personally lead.
Looking for a new challenge, Richard was the only SAP-America Variant Configuration consultant involved with APO / VC
integration from the start. His valuable input helped drive SAP-AG’s development team to consider many of the unique APO scenarios with make-to-order processes.
Richard’s total understanding of cross module integration thrusts him into the role of integration lead on many of his
projects. Often he can be found doing hardcore dependency writing, user training and writing documentation all on the same day: “Whatever it takes”
In his spare time, Richard taught the Variant Configuration Classes (LO260 & LO261) at various SAP training centers across
the country and became proficient in SD and ABAP along the way. To this day, Richard is still the first person to ask within the VC community for custom VC-centric ABAP reports, as he usually has already
written exactly what you need and has it in his back pocket.
Richard went independent in 2004.
